Conspiracy of Silence

Leporello journal recording thoughts, news and writings following the tragic bast in the port of Beirut on August 4, 2020. The installation was part of the ArtHaus Beirut collective exhibition aimed at raising funds for charity.

Traces of Drawing 

Revisiting works from the civil war period, the large-scale piece ‘Café Muller: Homage to Pina Bausch’ and drawings done in the underground shelter in 1989. Curated by Yasmine Taan and Pascal Odile for the Nabu Museum.

Thread of Life Installation • Incomplete Partitions

Incomplete Partitions was inspired by the musical legacy of the artist’s father George Naufal Sawaya. Installation, collages and a series of paintings were exhibited at Galerie Janine Rubeiz in Beirut.

One year later, the memory of the explosion at the port of Beirut is still too strongly felt. The book is reopened in memory of the victims and closed by a message from André Malraux about art and hope.

A short video-collage retracing the artistic journey of Greta Naufal and her ongoing passion for both art and music, highlighting the milestones of her career as an artist and an educator.

Jazz Pulse

A conpendium of three decades of work on the theme of jazz compiling paintings, lithographs and ink drawings. The book is introduced with an essay by William Wareing and a preface by Etel Adnan.

Partitions Inachevées

A digital catalogue tracing the process of building visual compositions combining the geometry of sounds and tapes from George Naufal Sawaya’s archive. The booklet includes writings about ‘The Thread of Life’ installation.

Beirut Blues

Catalogue of the first exhibition at Millesgarden Museum with Samar Mogharbel. Post-war documents lead to the creation of a body of work which denounces violence and reflects on the aftermath of the civil war and identity.
